Listed below are the events for the 2020-2021 school year.

  • September 8 : First day of the school year

    Classes begin at 9:00 am and are only 2 hours the first week of school. August 19, 2019 will be the first FULL day of classes.

  •  : Fire SAfety Days

    One of our wonderful Wayne Township Fire Departments visits to talk to our students about fire safety, what to do if a fire happens and how to plan for emergencies with family. The fire fighters also show the students what a fire fighter in full gear looks like and they even let the students see and sit in their fire truck!

  •  : dentist visit

    Each year, a local pediatric dentist visits our Pre-K students to talk about our teeth, how to clean them and what a dentist does. 

  • 2020 : Picture week

    Crowe's Eye Photography takes pictures of our students during picture week. Each teacher will pass out specific information on how to order and when their class has picture day prior to this week. 

  • october : Free Vision Screening

    All students who return with a completed permission slip, will have a free vision screening conducted by the Lion's Club. Results of the screening will be returned to the students shortly after. 

  • october : Fall Break

    Discovery Days will be closed October 14 - October 24 for Fall Break. Classes will resume October 28, 2019.

  • : Scholastic Book Fair

    The annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the family room from 8:45 - 9:30 am and 12:45 - 1:30 pm. 

  •  : Annual Nutcracker Performance

    Curtain Call Dance Academy will be here to perform a piece of the Nutcracker like they do every year. This is one of our in-house field trips for the year. If you, as a parent, are interested in going, speak with your child's teacher.

  • November 26-27: THanksgiving break

    There will be no classes Wednesday or Thursday due to Thanksgiving.

  • December  : Annual Angel breakfast

    The Angel Breakfast is a family event hosted by Chapel Rock Kids and Discovery Days. Come join for fun activities, snacks, crafts, games and more! This particular event needs a purchased ticket, Tickets are $5 per child or $8 for family. For more information, visit the director or visit our facebook page!


    Take this time off with your family and try to remember the real reason for the season - JESUS! Classes will resume January 8, 2020.

  •  : First day of the new year

    Classes resume January 8th! 

  • January , 2021: MLK Day

    Classes will be closed in observation of MLK day. 

  •  : Professor Steve

    Professor Steve will be visiting to talk to our students about science! Professor Steve's show lets kids learn about science in a fun way by visuals and demonstrations. This is a faith based science program that every year the kids enjoy!

  • February  : Peewinkle Puppet show

    Peewinkle Puppet show is always a student favorite! This puppet troupe puts on a fun and entertaining puppet show for our students. Not only is this fun, but the students get to learn a little about specific types of puppets!

  • February  : Parent-teacher conferences

    Teachers will offer sign ups for parents to select an available time, during one of these two days, to have their child's conference. Child care is available during conference time. Also please note, that barely 2's students will not have a formal conference.

  • :  open house and community registration

    Join us from 2pm-4pm  for a tour of our facility and an opportunity to  chat with the Discovery Days Staff. Please enter door #12 and go directly to the family room for registration and information.

  •  : Silly Safari

    Silly Safari is always a school favorite! Silly Safari teaches about animals through demonstrations and by showing live reptiles, mammals, insects and more! Students will even get the opportunity to pet and see some of the animals up close!

  •  : Spring Break

    Discovery Days is closed for spring break during this time. We hope everyone deserves their time off with their families. Classes will resume April 6, 2020.

  •  : Spring Program

    Everyone loves this night! Each class will put on a performance, either a song or bible verse. After the show, there is a slideshow of pictures of our students throughout the year. When the program is over, join us for an ice social and art show prepared by our students! 

  •  : End of the year carnival

    The end of the year carnival is a big event we put on for our students to celebrate a good year! The carnival may have a different theme each year, but there are always games and prizes! Not only do the students get to visit and play at the carnival, but they will get to watch a movie on a big projector with popcorn and lemonade.

    This is such a fun event and needs lots of volunteers to go well. Look for volunteer opportunities when the date approaches.
